Document Summary
People are bombarded by these potential sensations and potential information. But, we don"t sit there having access to all these information. 1we only have access to a limited subset of reality. We cannot handle so much information at one time. Our moment of experience is make up of limited subset of reality. Study of perception: process of figuring out your best guess of what is going on. It is not about directly connecting with what"s going on. But it is to create for yourself a good and enough presentation of the world. Perception guides behavior. (behavioral subroutine, relevant to the perception) We don"t know what is really going on, but we make a guess really fast and we act as though that guess is true. Speed-accuracy trade-off: when making decisions: if want accuracy, get some time and get as much info as possible; if want fast, just react, based on your best guess.
