Everything we learn is connected to biological activity

What is "knowledge" really?
What is mom? Wolverine? Love? Truth? Your worst nightmare? Chess strategy? Depression?
God?
All if these
- Your brain is an incredibly intricate *network* of neutrons! much like a culture is a network of
people
- Those neutrons communicate and form larger patterns and structures, much like our culture
communicated and forms institutions and systems of meanings
- As neutrons communicate, an association begins to form between them (much like a
relationship forms between two people when they talk to each other)
- the more they communicate, the stronger the association gets, until it becomes virtually
automatic and instantaneous (much like how we build relationships with others, and share
private jokes with our friends)
- these neutral conversations are not independent...imagine how confusing that would be
- our neural conversations are *interconnected, because they reflect our body's functional
adaptation to the environment. As these interdependent associations build over time, our brains
become increasingly adapted to our environments
- all aspects of consciousness are dynamic processes, connected to other dynamic processes,
the person isn't some fixed entity and understanding this can help us understand that people
change because of their neurons
- also, understanding deeply that the activities of the mind are biologically-transmitted dynamic
processes, connecting to other dynamic processes is important
- this, we believe, tells us who we are. And who we can become. And how we experience reality.
And now to be happy. And all sorts of things like that

- science is not about facts; it's about hypotheses, observations, and "thus-far" conclusions
- so how do you know if anything is "true"?
- replication, convergence, and the peer review processes?
