Physical science versus social science: physical science seems to be dominated by one set of final explanations, this also leaves certain factors that were left unexplained, social sciences never have one final explanation, nobody agrees on anything. International relations as a field of study: different approaches and philosophical assumptions about politics and the state. Inequality: force, coercion, the necessity of command and politics, contract model of states origin and consent of the governed, legislatures as arena of politics, the ideal form of government is one that is least efficient as possible. "there is no legal norm so important, morality so absolute no social project so compelling as to justify men killing each other. Imagined life without a political state to live in: ownership is an issue with this idea, as politics would protect private, continental tradition: property, machiavelli, sun zu, clausewitz, german historical experience.
