Generic drugs: same chemical, off-patent (usually cheaper) Canada spends over per person per year on pharmaceuticals (highest in world except us) Newer, more expensive drugs vs. older, less expensive drugs. Is a new drug always superior: overall, only 1 in 10 drugs offers a significant therapeutic advantage.
