Gcs modulates neuron"s communication: modest levels of gc is optimal for synaptic strengthening, higher stress ->higher gcs -> poorer learning. Long-term potentiation is an increase in synaptic strengthening. Ospan test: problem (math questions) -> solution -> letter, impaired memory: people cannot remember letter by distracted by math problems, meditation -> improved performance by less distracted.
