Document Summary

As one"s personality expands and integrates what was once unconsciousness, a new locus of personality develops- the self- while the limited [narcissistic] ego diminishes. In the reality for infants, there was not separation of things. Duality: we think that we are separate, you are a thing, i am a thing. Almost all the things are learned from others. Understand the emptiness is the warm-up, then meditation. The goal of life is to involve that way and encouraged by our society. (4) This is consistent with the buddhist goals of radical self-awareness (integrating the shadow), emptiness of self (integrating animus/ anima), and compassion (seeing through our persona) This is the same as the buddha"s saying. Both jung and tantric psychology work with images, visualization and imagination. In jung, this work is known as active imagination. Both have the goal of opening a channel between the unconscious and conscious in order to facilitate individuation and the realization.
