Metanarrative: sometimes called grand narrative very broad overarching narrative that encompasses many smaller narratives in pursuit of a single story . 1. review of the existing literature on a topic. 2. the history of history how the discipline has evolved. Assessing how the image or impression we have of past people and events shifts over time.
