Tell me a little bit about the topic for each week. Week 6 material not on the test. Last week review: history and the issues of power and change. We can"t look at different criminal justice systems in a vacuum, as if they develop independently. We must look at their history and future for context. There are aspects that might not be apparent if we just look at the current. Readings talked about the importance of the particular kinds of histories. Be attentive to power dynamics; power struggles. ^ be remember the fancy diagram; as opposed to the modern. The dispersed diagram looks at power dynamics; many different potential ways forward, power dynamics, politics, and struggle determined which path taken. We talked about the hay reading particularly; role of enclosing land in the transition from feudalism to capitalism; how a lot of people displaced in the process.
