Minoan civilization was first civ for greeks who flourished in c. 200 1300. Linear a is a hieroglyphic for minoan civilization that bears no resemblance to the modern greek language. It"s made of a culmination of palaces, which insinuates that the minoans were egalitarian. Minoans were probably a less hierarchical society who loved nature. Ancient pottery and art showed minoans in their daily life, e. g. , fishing and planting crops. The palace at mycenae is walled off to countryside, as opposed to minoans palace. This suggests that the mycenaens were on guard against enemies, or had a hierarchical society. Tholos tomb had lots of gold and symbols of royalty. Linear b is mycenaen and is old school greek. Mycenaen culture might have died out because of earthquake, famine, or war. As civilizations died out, people died at younger ages and more were malnourished. The dark ages (c. 1200 700 bce)
