Air pollution is a major health threat and a key risk factors for both acute and chronic respiratory diseases. Outdoor air pollution is largely and increasingly related to the use of fossil fuels for transportation, the generation of energy and other human activities. Primary emissions such as soot particles from diesel engines and secondary pollutants such as ozone and sulphate particles formed from the burning of sulphur containing fuel. Cooking can release harmful pollutants in the air and children are vulnerable to this. Solid waste: the amount of solid waste generated by a country is related to its level of urbanization, personal incomes and lifestyle. Municipal waste is an important part of the total waste generated and dealing with garbage collection, storage and treatment usually absorbs more than one third of the public sectors financial efforts to minimize and control all forms of pollution.
