Sant referring to similar meanings of saints, truth or holy asetic. In north india there was something known as sant tradition. Three elements contributed to the rise of the sant tradition: bhakti or devotional practice, tantric yoga, sufism. Sant poets such as namdev, ravidas, kabir created many poems that became traditions in sikhism. He was influenced greatly by sant poets. Composed more than 900 hymns, compiled as the adi granth. Lived around the time of the mugal empire. Thus, with the tolerance of the mugal empire, sikhism was founded. One day, he went for a walk in the forest and was missing for many years.
