Even though people look at personality as being isolated from a situation, it"s important to take in social and cultural context in order to fully appreciate that person"s personality. It"s a common approach to look at personality as individual differences. Can help us to see how we"re different and alike to other people. Personality does have an impact on how people interact. Assumed that it"s stable during adulthood but growing and changing in childhood. The traits perspective is a dominant approach within the field. Personality disorders can be common for university students. Personality should be more stable for people in their 30s, 40s. There has always been a differing opinion in terms of theoretical perspectives and there have been shifts in terms of dominant approaches.
