Recall : natural selection happens when, w/i-species competition. There has to be competition to survive on some sort of resource: w/i-species differences. There has to be differences on genetics: phenotype tied to genotype. Emotions are adaptive which is caused by natural selection. They are actions that help our ancestors survive. When we want to escape from a bad situation, we either get emotionally fear and attack. Eyes open wide and you see more around you and makes you more adaptive to escape. When disgust, the nose area will be cringe and it will close the nasal path and block the pathway from pathegons to go inside and prevent the people from getting sick (ancestors) They coincide w/ emotions our ancestors felt.
