A lot of me: my integrity, me me me, think how well am i doing. Based this theory on his 3 children: very extreme, either good or bad. Basic needs to start, becomes more complex. Values independent cultures above others, values independence among cultures: anything else is bad. Biased towards the upper middle class independent american societies: autonomy vs shame.
