Eg. fmri experiments and multiple object tracking: biased-competition model of attention (desimone & duncan - 1995) Competition: stimuli in the visual field compete for limited processing capacity and control of behavior. Bias: competition biased towards certain stimuli depending on: Instructions, spatial cues, feature cues fmri proof for biased competition: 250ms, images are presented sequentially and simultaneously. In simultaneous condition, more competition and less response.
