Dsm-5 definition of mental disorder: a syndrome characterized by clinically significant disturbance in individuals cognition, emotion regulation, or behavior that reflects a dysfunction in the psychological, biological or developmental processes underlying mental functioning. Mental disorders are usually associate with significant distress or disability in social, occupational or other important activities. Syndrome is a constellation of symptoms; disorders are not defined by one symptom alone, a lot of disorders have a bunch of over lap that defines the construct. Comordity having more than one disorder present ; more likely than not to have more than one disorder. Patients are harder to treat if they are comordity.
