Disordered thinking in which ideas are not logically related, faulty perception and attention, flat or inappropriate affect, and bizarre disturbances in motor activity. Age of onset late adolescence adulthood that"s when things happens in your life!! Schizophrenia is different in different cultures because: Different adverse life events (growing up in syria) Canada! immigration financial disadvantage, vitamin d, language. *** we dont know the cause of schizophrenia! Attenuated symptoms looks like schizophrenia but not quite there. You know something is off but not acute phase :) E. g. acute episode in the guest lecture was catatonia , delusions were full blown. Acute stage the positive symptoms residual stage thoughts are still disorganized, very forgetful. ** symptoms get faded in later life schizophrenia is hetereogenic. Hospitalization got less and less in time. More likely to act on their delusions.
