Communication is two individuals talking to each other. Gestures or what one wears all can be an example of communication. In the canonical case, communication would be when one organism transmit information to another. A symbol conveying information about something can be considered communication but it is vague. Information can be transmitted via visually (when peacocks transmits information about their appeal to other peacocks), chemically (transmitting certain chemical at certain times to let other animal or species know certain things), tactile, and vocal/auditory channel. Non-human are limited in their ways of communicating to mating calls, group call, alert, and calls that are required for basic survival and reproduction. Human communication are broad and has many effect. Human communication can affect social, physical and emotional. Philosopher pierce came up with a classification of signs which means a stimulus. Icon is a stimulus pattern that signifies something because it physically resembles that thing.
