White matter of brain refers to axon tracts, surrounded by myelin sheath which is like an insulator. Myelin sheath allows for less signal to be lost and is faster and efficient for message to travel down axon. One important change is in grey matter. Density of grain matter changes, which is a loss in density. Brain decides to get rid of connections not being used.
