Lecture 22 memory: not a singular noun. It is more so a verb (process) and we have multiple forms of them. The brain has a number of different memory systems that sometimes do their own things and sometimes interact. The chart to the left shows the systems i will be highlighting in my lectures these are the primary systems. These traces are termed sensory memory, and they tend to be very short-lived. Sensory memory was most extensively studied by a cognitive psychologist named george sperling.
