PSYA01H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 10: Microsoft Onenote, Parietal Lobe, List Of Fullmetal Alchemist Characters
Document Summary
Parietal lobe: primary sensory function that involves perception of the body. The association cortex here seems to be involved in complex spatial functions. At the top back part of the brain. If problems with primary cortex in parietal lobe, weird things happen to your body. Sleeping with your arm on top of your head, waking up and feeling like it"s not your arm. When blood leaves your arm, you won"t have any feeling and it feels like someone else"s arm. The left parietal appears to keep track of the spatial location of our body parts (proprioception) Damage often associated with poor motor movements/can"t feel body parts. People have trouble steering their body and moving body in graceful ways. The right parietal appears to keep track of the spatial location of things in our external worlds. Damage can lead to problems of neglect and spatial integration of parts.
