Document Summary

So you will have probably heard the word wave before. So we have radio waves, x-ray waves, water waves and sound waves. If you drop a pebble inside a pond, at the surface of a pond which is completely level, it will generate these circular waves as seen on this slide. This is an example of a wave and this at the bottom of this picture we see a mathematical stimulation on how this wave goes about. So whenever i talk to you, with the muscles in my mouth, i am changing the pressure and this change in pressure actually propagates as a wave and gets into the ear and we are able to hear something. And then finally, the most interesting of all is the light wave. Light is a different type of phenomenon compared to other types of waves. So here is a model to describe all types of waves.
