Assigns almost everyone a superior whom they must obey. Gives people no right to complain in court about how their superiors treat them, except in a narrow range of cases. Owns all the non-labor means of production, and organizes production by means of central planning. Incentivizes people with the promise that, if they follow orders will they may be promoted to a higher rank and be allowed to give orders to others. Usually punishes those who disobey orders with exile, knowing that most people who are exiled will probably have to immigrate to another dictatorship. The form of government just described is a communist dictatorship, and the people who live under it are not free. But most businesses are communist dictatorships of this very kind. The many hours in which we are governed by these dictatorships are hours in which we are not free.
