Office hours: wednesdays after class (1:00 p. m. onward) This course examines various topics in the field of law and economics. Basically, the course will develop a positive theory of legal institutions that suggests that laws evolve so as to increase economic efficiency: classes. Classes are scheduled for wednesdays from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. a tutorial is also scheduled for tuesdays from 2 p. m. to 3 p. m. This tutorial will not meet every week, but will be used for term exams, discussions of papers, and the handing back and discussion of exams. The course uses a new design for delivering courses that integrates lectures and webinars. The course includes a series of carefully designed problems which will help you understand some of the key concepts in the course. These problems will be discussed in on-line webinars which you are expected to work through in the weeks designated on the reading list.
