Document Summary

Majority of workers within age range of 25-54. Younger age group most of people still in school/uni: 55 and over group most of those people are retired. So in youngest age grp men a bit more work, in 15-24 almost equal, 25-54 men a little bit higher, but in 55 and over men were almost twice as likely as women to work in the work force. Some relevance in regards to retirement and who stays in the workforce: despite having 3 recessions in the last few yrs, canada"s employment rate has increased. Last recession in 2008, employment rate decreased less than what it had in the other two recessions: not same case as us. In 2010, the employment rate was 10. 9% for individuals aged 65 years and over and 80. 5% for individuals aged 25 to 44. In 2010, canadians aged 25 to 44 were the most likely to be working compared to other age groups: 80. 5% of them had jobs.
