Examining interaction of gender ideologies, family relationships and workplace injuries. Structural inequities- systematic patterns and relationships of social organizations. How these structural inequities effect people"s daily lifestyle body, mental health, environment, etc; They feel a need to move north to find work because they feel desperate at home, feel that they cannot provide for their family if they stay and this ultimately effects people/family back home. Participant observation; long term research where people go out into the community and do fieldwork, engage in the community for a long period of time to observe and reason. Undocumented latino day labourers being illegal impacts their freedom of movement, expression, their right to legal assistance, health care, housing. Migrants do cheap labour which is important for the us economy and for the canadian economy especially in agriculture during the summer and fall for harvest. The policing is aggressive and if you get caught, you get kicked out and the border guards are harsh.
