HLTA02H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Biomedical Model
Document Summary
There are three disciplinarily in health studies: multidiscipline, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary. Multidiscipline: each researcher has their own goal and way of working towards the same goal. Interdisciplinary: researchers from other disciplines share their study and work different disciplines together. Transdisciplinary: enlarge their studying field and occupy a broader understanding of each discipline. To understand the frailty of elder women, researchers look at this from different disciplinaries. So they add all the disciplinary perspective to form a broader understanding and shared research to form an understanding. This way, there is a sharing and communication between different disciplines and they integrate their ideas. Transdisciplinary is an epistemic communicate form around a common conceptual framework. Ascaris lumbricoide which is a round worm has killed 60000+ annually. Biomedical model of health is considering the primary model of health care. Around fifty million cad goes to biomedical models rather than spending it on health care.
