Internalized racism: when those who are stigmatized accept these messages about their own abilities and intrinsic lack of worth, leading to resignation; possibly leading to feelings of helplessness of hopelessness. Models: show relationships btw concepts; rep. reality but not proven"; can be words or images. Theory: systematically organized knowledge applicable in a wide variety of circumstances; used to analyze, predict, or explain the nature or behaviour of a set of phenomenon; can be used as the basis for action.
