HLTA02H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: David Suzuki, World Health Organization, Radiant Energy
Document Summary
It is associate with extreme weather condition that causes displacement, emergencies, and danger to health. May impact the environment by resulting in pollutions, civil unrest, water and food scarcity. Climate change can impact the voluntary and involuntary migration. What is climate change? (global warming) it mainly results from the production of carbon dioxide. This co2 comes from fossil fuels for residential purposes, to power industry and cars. Pollutants impact blanket of greenhouse gases surrounding earth, reflecting sun"s radiant energy back on to the earth causes a warming trend. Impact is global: there is adverse effect on crops and wildlife, flooding of coastal regions, rising sea level, severe weather events and drought. The rise of co2 causes rises in temperature. Extreme weather condition causes changes in the environment such as evaporation and rise in the water level. The atmosphere taken up the evaporation then lets it out in an acidic rain that kills the environment.
