132 views2 pages

Document Summary

Usufruct: it deals with the idea of the commons. it is important in canada because of the way our laws allow native roots to have access to land. So it is not exactly land ownership, but it is the law that applies to the commons. Environmental effect is usually referred to as ecosystem component. Community (indigenous) knowledge is a really good source of information for land which does not have any previous scientific data. For us environmental effect is backed up by data we can measure it. Environmental impacts can sometimes be based on a valued subject. People may have certain perceptions on the effect of something which may not have scientific data to support it. But this does not mean that it is not important or a valid concern. Environmental effect needs a timeline, predicted, geographic location and can be measured.
