2. Describe the creation story in Heliopolis?
• Nothing existed on earth
• Nun, deep water, gave rise to a mound and a sun god named Atum
• Atum was lonely and searching for companionship
• He had half male and half female features to reproduce
• He gave birth to Shu and Tefnet
• When Shu and Tefnut fell into the Nun, Atum sent his eye to search for his children
• His tears made mankind
• Once the eye returned with the children, Atum cried with joy
• Shun and Tefnut had two children, Geb and Nut
• Nut gave birth to star children
• Nut was very hungry and ate her star children
• Geb was furious and he was trying to chase Nut
• Nut escaped from Geb by forming an arch above him, resembling the sky
• Shu held Geb and Nut apart
• Geb and Nut had four children Osiris, Isis, Seth, and Nephthys
