Bring each reading with you so that you can make notes on the data gures (they will be posted before the lecture) Prior to midterm of nal we will be told the nature of the exams. The nal exam covers the last 5 lectures not all 10 deals with the last 5 lectures. Lecture itself is 2 hours but the midterm and nal are 3 hours. Would like to start the midterm at 8 instead of 9 so that it can be 3 hours long. January 3rd - introduction to the cellular stress response. To tell us about the cellular stress response (the cellular heat shock response) the way cells respond at a molecular level to stress. 2. let us see how expression of heat shock or stress genes is a good model system for the analysis of gene expression. How this is a good model system in expreiments.
