There are drivers of change = regulating services b/c they change the climate. Those that build up to large scale = regulating services. Provisioning service = any sort of provision/ natural products. Supporting service = smaller scale (nutrient recycling, primary production) Regulating service = larger scale (ex. carbon cycle) Carbon cycle if in local scale will be supporting service, but if looking on how it impacts planet it will be regulating service. Cultural service = there are spiritual and recreational benefits. There was an increased recognition that ecosystems don"t just provides services for food, but can also help with cultural wellbeing, and alleviate poverty (by selling products of the ecosystem) Main goal of conservation is to maintain the services we have. Using technology for ecosystem (water purification vs. natural wetlands) can be expensive. Tourism = those low in monetary funds will use their tourism to take back the money to put back into the ecosystem.
