Document Summary

Describe and explain the significance of all red terms: a community is where interacting populations of different species are found in the same place and time. Interrelationships (where two or more things is related to the other) govern the flow of energy and nutrient cycling within community. A species" niche includes all of its interactions with the biotic (living factors) and abiotic factors of its environment. Abiotic factors are the conditions (which are infinite such as sunlight) and resources (which are finite such as food). Defined by all the needs and tolerances of an organism. It relates observed presences of a species to values of environmental variables at those sites. A niche is a combination of the physical habitat of a species and its ecological role in that habitat which is determined by both abiotic and biotic factors that affect the species.
