Hairs are very short lived (1-3 weeks) Root epidermis is grown in between the hairs to absorb water that contains minerals that is used for the plant. Cell walls is structurally improved by silica. Uses chemical & structural defense against herbivores. The cells are cone-shaped so the light is reflected in all directions to create a sheen. Has the stomata located on the top of the leaves (stomata is usually located on the bottom)
