Document Summary

Slide 2: mediated by a cell signal that bind to a cellular receptor that send signals. If the signals are soluble then the cell would be hydrophobic molecule. Endocrine produces a signal molecule travel through the blood to a target cell: distantly apart from each other. Paracrine signaling cell is acting locally in the environment. Contact-dependent bond to the surface of one cell. Synaptic between neurons: the axon make contact with a target cell. The cell secrete signal molecule, the cell have signal receptors that bind to its own signal molecule: usually happen between one cell. This cause activation of the receptor, which will cause a signaling cascade from one molecule to another. Slide 6: when the ligand bind to the receptor it causes a change to the cell.
