Chapter 1: first case appeared in 1984 and after the three years of the occurrence is that hiv is discovered as aetiological agent then known as human t cell lymphotrophic virus (htlv). Aids was common in kinshasa and kigali , 90% of sex workers were affected. Assumptions about that virus origininated in central africa have problem. First is that it was bias, as little information on hiv prevalence was available. Second is that the relationship between hiv prevalence and duration of the epidemic is not straightforward, it all depends on the annual incidence. In kinshasa hiv rates not higher than 1% annualy. Three fourth of the first 100 ebola cases in yambuku were through injections. For ebola pateints die early and for hiv can live and quietly pass the virus for 10 years, and symptoms do not appear early. In northern america and western europe, 98% and 88% hiv were from hiv group b.
