Antc67 lecture 2: epidemiology, dem means populations, study of diseases in populations, epi means diseases. So how does it differ from consumption: they mean the same thing, they both mean respiratory tuberculosis. And taxonomy of disease had a lot to do with how they were transmitted. Eg certain diseases fall under the category of air borne disease: some go under water and good borne, some go under sexual transmission. Antc67 lecture 2: some diseases are infectious, some are not infectious. With infectious disease your body temperature is usually higher. Microorganism sexually transmitted diseases more common: etiology cause. Once you got smallpox you either died or lived and was immune forever. If had scars then person had smallpox and would not be bringing smallpox into the house. Found that milkmaids were less to get smallpox than non- milkmaids.
