Her question: was rape the crime for which the lynched person was accused: she though if rape was the crime in which in lunched person was accused (not that they actually had to have done that crime) Method: collected newspaper reports, went to the scenes of the crimes, interviewed eyewitnesses researched 728 lynching in the span of 10 years. In 60, 70, 80s and early 90s, in media they were predominately about subordinate women roles.
