There are exceptions (women with different chromosomes, etc. ) Gender essentialism: idea that men and women have inherent/unique attributes that qualify them as separate genders. Experiences are diverse, so is it really shared: men are rarely asked do you have children, are you planning on having children soon, etc. at job interviews, while women are commonly asked this. Relationship status (married, single, common law, divorced, widowed) Barriers inhibiting certain individuals/groups from partaking in certain aspects of society. This is done by a dominant group on the subordinate group. Social arrangements in which the subordinate group is exploited and the dominant group is granted unearthed privilege.
