There is an assumption that indigenous people somehow have an intuitive knowledge of their culture and history, when the degree of such knowledge varies greatly depeding upon the family and community connections of each individual. Today, first nations are perceived as becoming rich because of gaming revenues. By dehumanizing her, its not traditional clothing, able to degrade her. Stereotypes totem poles don"t exist in many places not by tradition. Totem poles created and erected for each clan a person for each. To hand down knowledge has a story behind it.
