What this means is that the western culture is deeply committed to the idea that there are only two sexes. Legally, too, every adult is either man or woman, and the difference, of course, is not trivial: our society has categorized sexes into male and female, through institutions, legal establishments, and the medical community. Medical community has given no option to the in- between, instead managing inter-sexuality so that the outcome is either male or female. She argued that this was not fair to sexes: the medical community has therefore completed what the legal world began.
