School promoters work mean needing more people to teach than were qualiied: teaching wasn"t a high status, at that ime, anyone could do it. Low bar for teaching minimal requirements for teaching help ill gap. Post 1960s changes: bachelors degree (greater emphasis on ceriicaion, ceriicaion via a university- stronger ailiaion with universiies. Governments began graning permission for teachers to earn a ceriicaion. Increased status, but greater scruiny- ex: most teachers describe their jobs as really stressful than it was a decade before.
