Document Summary

Frequency distributions, we are taking cases and distributing them across the attributes of a variable. Used when there is either categorical or categorical data, range of each category. It is important to pay attention to sample size. Relative to the sample size, tell the relationship to the sample size, relative to the total. Raw or percent distribution, doesn"t matter what the raw data are they are cumulative. Allows us to see where an attribute of a category lies, particular position (median), middle of a distribution. Cumulative percent gives the position of the data. Adding, build, accumulate, when you start this distribution 20-29, you include 17. 5% of the sample, adding the previous percent to the next category, it"s giving positions not just the value. It shows how distribution changes across the distribution of variables. Showing the positions of the data, shows percentiles and medians. Very commonly used to figure out what kind of distribution we have.
