Document Summary
Gendered pathways into crime: identify and explain the gender gap in crime. How is this intended to address the unique needs of women: men and women have different pathways into prison, and the types of punishment that we have in our justice system are studied, tested, and used on men. However, these systems do not correspond with the needs women have. Find more ways that are responsive to women: what impact has feminist perspectives had on the study of crime and deviance, typically, criminological research has focused on men. Feminist have pointed out that there is a very male centered ideology within criminology. Women were ignored through criminological intellectual inquiry, however, it has been motioned by feminists that women should be the actual focus of this intellectual inquiry: women should be at the center of intellectual inquiry. Typical offenses for men: violence, sexual offenses, robbery, theft, fraud, mischief, drugs.
