Criminal people are role models for younger generation they pass these values on to the youth of the society so they learn criminal/deviant values. People are socialized into criminal behavior via transmission of criminal culture. Said that people learn through social interactions with groups of people. Differential associations: we discriminate when we associate with people we"re more likely to associate with certain groups of people compared to others (ex. as. Utm students, we most likely associate with other uni students vs. gang members)
