Document Summary
Release and reentry has a lot to do with reintegration of ofenders into society. Conditional release: refers to the term for various means of leaving prison before the end of a sentence. It is subject to conditions that, if breached, may trigger revocation (ofenders returning to jail). Cold turkey release: cold turkey release refers to the release of an ofender at the end of the sentence. Under cold turkey release, there is no conditional release or supervision possible. Warrant expiry date: warrant expiry date refers to the end of an ofender"s sentence. When a sentence begins, it is called the warrant of commitment. When the sentence ends, it is called the warrant expiry date. In between this time period, an ofender can be released based on eligibility. It also helps ofenders slowly to get used to living outside of prisons. This helps to reintegrate them back into society.
