Anomie - state in which norms are unclear, unsure of what the behaviour is, unsure what to do (uncertainty state) Conflict of standards - being pressured into doing something bad bc difficult to say no. Deviance is the result of the absence of social control. Conformity is problematic, so why most people don"t commit crime. 2 types: formal (written laws) and informal (gossip) Social bonds - (below) used to commit or prevent crimes.
