Document Summary
In social science we question things, open ourselves to critiques. Common sense - you hear things that you assume they are true but in reality they might not be. When you have common sense it might not be logical however some might be as they overlap. Reading to your child is good (common sense) Ideologies: religion, nationalism (america), a friend who is left or right wing (not common sense) There are rules between a valid conclusion vs invalid conclusion. Is spanking a child effective? (formulate a question) We revise our question: for this kind of child is it effective. Choose a method: how to get information. Ask a parent - surveys: is it affective (may be one sided) Report results: peer review - submit to a journal. Assumptions - your presumption about the world is that reality is constructed, that it is complicated and subjective. Purpose - we"re doing graphic research (join a gang)
