Unit theory: a theory that emphasizes particular problems and makes testable assertions about those problems (e. g. how do women get promoted in law firms) Metatheory: a way of looking at and interpreting reality that is not testable (e. g. humans are by nature, self-interested) Feminism: what are the social sources of patriarchy?
